Who We Are

Our Organisation

We are a small charity based in Waltham Forest. When a previous charity we worked with, Carefree Kids,  sadly folded, a small group of us decided to carry on the important and valuable work it had been doing, providing therapeutic play and intervention to children, through an innovative combination of therapy and supervision provided by qualified  therapists alongside trained volunteers working under supervision. We decided to honour the previous organisation, taking the name Carefree Kids 2020 - the year we were founded.

Carefree Kids 2020 was founded with the recognition that children have many pressures and stresses in their lives. They often have to process complex and difficult experiences, and this can impact on their  mental health and wellbeing. We believe that with the right interventions and emotional support, children can come to terms with difficult experiences, and where this is possible, they can move forward, flourish and grow.

Our Values

Our Aim

We aim to ensure the preservation and protection of mental health among children, young people and adults, through non-directive therapeutic play, arts therapies and talking based therapies. By providing supervision to staff in schools we build their skills and confidence to enable continuity of support. We also aspire to support children's emotional wellbeing by working with parents and carers one-to-one or in groups.
